The People Behind Every Successful Breeding Season
Kindra Rader
Owner/PresidentKindra brings more than a decade of experience in clinical ICSI, advanced reproductive technologies, and research to her work at Vita Nova. Her journey began in 2013 at Texas A&M University, where she worked as a Laboratory Technician under Dr. Katrin Hinrichs and eventually became Program Coordinator, overseeing all aspects of the program. Throughout her seven years at Texas A&M, Kindra was involved in a wide variety of research projects focused on advancing reproductive technologies. She has trained veterinarians in OPU techniques, taught post-mortem ovary collection, and contributed to numerous scientific publications. She is also the first author of Advanced Reproductive Technologies for Equine Breed Conservation, a manual published through The Livestock Conservancy. While Kindra's scientific background provides the foundation for her work, it is her genuine passion for breeders and their horses that shapes the way she cares for each client. As a small breeder herself, she understands that every horse represents an investment of time, hope, and heart. She knows firsthand how much goes into raising a special prospect—and how important it is to have someone you trust guiding you through the reproductive process. Kindra believes every case deserves personal attention, clear communication, and an honest approach. She takes the time to understand each client's goals and strives to make every step of the process as transparent and straightforward as possible. At Vita Nova, Kindra combines her technical expertise with a breeder's perspective to provide thoughtful, individualized care. Her goal is not simply to provide a reproductive service, but to build lasting relationships with the people who entrust their horses and future generations to her care.
Luis Castaneda
Clinical Laboratory AssociateLuis started with us in 2023 and has invested countless hours to learning and perfecting all aspects of the laboratory workflow and protocols. He has an exceptional blastocyst rate as an embryologist and has already produced hundreds of foals via ICSI. Before Vita Nova, Luis was actively involved in the equine industry as a breeding manager for industry leaders Bob Loomis and Sterling Ranch. Luis has a reining bred mare and raises his own exceptional prospects, one foal at a time. This keeps him connected to mare owner's needs and makes him a well-rounded asset to our team.
Taryn Goppman
Office ManagerTaryn started working at Vita Nova in January, 2025 and we couldn't be more grateful. She was previously the breeding manager at Cardinal Reining Horses in Aubrey, Texas, bringing a wealth of industry knowledge and a strong background in equine care and management. She has several broodmares and raises her own stock, primarily focusing on cow-horse and cutting lineages. Taryn has become an essential part of Vita Nova's success and has vastly contributed to streamlining record keeping, scheduling, reporting, and contracts as well as all aspects of our laboratory communications. She is a forward thinker with a work-ethic and integrity that is second to none. Clients regularly comment on her exceptional interpersonal communication skills, extremely helpful knowledge base, and her utmost attention to every detail. We are truly blessed to have her as a key pillar of our team.
